What Cyprus companies are called
The register has no industry codes, so a company’s name is the only hint of what it does. These are the sectors that turn up in company names, and how the numbers have moved over the years.
Matching is on the registered name alone. A word in a name is not evidence of what the company actually does, and any company that never mentions its sector in its name is missing here. Read these as counts of names, not industry statistics.
241,726 of 571,218 organisations (42%) have a name that points to a sector. The rest are the “… ENTERPRISES” and “… HOLDINGS” names, or just a family name, and they say nothing about the business.
Sectors overlap and do not sum to the total: a company called “X Shipping & Trading” is counted under both.
